Welcome to the South Bay Soaring Society web site
The South Bay Soaring Society (SBSS) is a radio controlled glider club based in San Jose, CA. We have access to flying sites in San Jose, Hollister, Fremont, Los Banos and Cupertino. The club is involved in slope soaring, thermal duration, aero-tow and scale soaring. A 501 (c) (7) Non Profit Organization.
Join The Club
Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month and start at 6:30 PM.
Club meetings are on line using Zoom. Meeting invitations are sent to SBSS members in advance of each meeting.

Free Instruction
Free R/C sailplane instruction available to all. We bring the plane and radio. No experience necessary. For more information contact Noel.
Outreach
SBSS sponsors outreach events to encourage interest in soaring to children and young adults. Here, Noel demonstrates model aviation to a group of Boy Scouts as part of the Outreach Program. More information is on the Outreach Page.
