General Membership Information:

New Member is defined as anyone who was not a member the previous year.

Junior Member is defined as anyone who is under the age of 19 on July 1 of the year of application for membership.

Open Member is defined as anyone who is older than a Junior Member.

Family Member is defined as an Open Member plus any (2) family members in the same household. Limit of TWO (2) Family members with each Family Membership. 

Members flying at club fields must have current AMA number.

Full Membership Commitment:

South Bay Soaring Society is a recognized member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics which includes insurance & liability, access to fields, sites & model aviation events.

By Applying for membership in the South Bay Soaring Society , I hereby agree to become a member in the Academy of Model Aeronautics. I agree to subscribe to the SBSS Constitution and By-Laws as published on the club website and to the safety rules of our club flying sites.

SBSS Membership Application ; 

The Membership form can now be completed and submitted in two ways: traditional and modern. 

Postal Mail:

1. The member downloads and prints a hard copy of the SBSS Membership Form

2. The member manually fills in the form

3. The member mails the completed hard copy form and dues to the SBSS P.O. box shown on the form

Email:

1. The member downloads the SBSS Membership Form

2. The member machine fills in the form using the free Adobe Acrobat Reader

3. The member saves the filled-in form as “SBSS-Membership-Form–their_name.pdf”

4. The member emails their SBSS Membership Form to sbsssite@gmail.com 

5. Currently checks must either be mailed in or handed to a SBSS member. We are working on a on-line payment option.
